[00:00:00] Hey everybody. I’m a little under the weather today, so if I look a little out of it, that’s why I woke up feeling sick, so I just wanted to hop on here real quick to give you an update on Berries.
[00:00:09] You guys probably know that I am the clinical consultant for product development for Berries. That’s hey Berries dot com slash therapist. They’re always innovating, they’re always releasing new features. They just released a new feature. It is gonna blow your mind. It’s incredible. It is basically a built-in diagnostic assistant.
[00:00:31] If you go into the client’s note, like if you have a session with the client now if you scroll down underneath, you’re gonna see down to the very bottom, there’s an option for a diagnosis down there. And I’m still playing with it too, so bear with me. You scroll down and there’s gonna be some suggestions already there and there’s also even a bar down below that where you can like search for certain diagnosis by, let’s say, you know, a number like F 4, 3, 2, 1.
[00:00:54] You know that, that’s one that I always use for a lot of my clients ’cause I work with that type of population. But you can go down, you can like start searching anxiety, you’re gonna see options come up for that. But it’s gonna give you suggestions already. And the suggestions are based on the progress node, so it’s like super smart AI inside of Berries that can kind of ascertain what the diagnosis would be just based on the progress node that you just did with the client, which totally blows my mind.
[00:01:21] Imagine like. An assessment note, right? It makes the assessment for you. ’cause they’ve got a really great assessment template already in there. You scroll down to the bottom, it’s gonna say, oh, it looks like this client might have. Major depressive disorder. Maybe it’s PTSD, maybe it’s bipolar disorder.
[00:01:37] And the really cool thing about this is it gives you a very detailed justification as to why they’re picking that diagnosis for you. So you could be like, oh, you’re right. I, you know, I missed the fact that they had periods of escalated mood and couldn’t sleep at night. Something like that. So it’s like, oh, that’s why they’re saying.
[00:01:56] It could be bipolar disorder, so it’s gonna give you options. And then what you can do from there is you can kind of mark it as cautionary, like it’s pending, like maybe this is it. Or you can say yes. That definitely sounds like it. Based on the pre like generated AI justification you’re giving or my own experience.
[00:02:14] Of course, we wanna continue to use our own experience and make decisions based on our clinical judgment, not what the AI is suggesting. But going down and you can say, yeah, it looks like generalized anxiety disorder. The justification fits. That’s probably what I would’ve given anyway. You can select it and it automatically puts that in.
[00:02:32] The chart. So now the client has this diagnosis of, you know, generalized anxiety disorder with some other pendings down there. And if you like two or three of them, ’cause sometimes it could be a couple different things. You can select a couple in there and it’s gonna hold all those for you as a diagnosis.
[00:02:47] And the really cool thing about it is once you’ve chosen like a diagnosis. For the chart, essentially, or for that client’s chart. It’s think gonna base all future documentation based on that diagnosis that you’ve chosen. So if you then decide, okay, now I want a treatment plan for this client.
[00:03:03] You’ve chosen the diagnosis, you’ve got the note there, or the assessment note that you did go in and just hit the button and it’s going to generate a treatment plan based on the diagnosis that you decided on for this client and all future notes, progress notes, everything is gonna be generated based on your diagnosis.
[00:03:22] It’s incredible, you guys, I mean it varies, is essentially doing all of the clinical stuff we hate, like how many times have you like sat with A DSM. I don’t know if people actually have book DSMs anymore. I think some of us probably do, but sat with A DSM and just like looked through like all the diagnostic categories and saying, oh God, oh, you have to have five symptoms for it to be this, you have to have this for it to be that.
[00:03:46] This makes it so. Freaking easy it, it’s gonna blow your mind. So not only does it do that. They’ve also moved their clinical assistant, their chat bot that they created, the HIPAA compliant chat, GPT. You don’t even need chat GPT anymore because you can do almost everything inside of Berries like you would with chat GPT. There’s a couple of nuances that are a little bit different, but any clinical stuff you were doing, you don’t have to do that with CHATT PT anymore.
[00:04:10] This clinical assistant inside of Berries, you just talk to it like you would chatt PT, it’s gonna give you Intervention ideas, you can ask it. What am I missing clinically here that, might be pertinent. It’s gonna give you a suggestion. I had it do it for me the other day.
[00:04:25] It said, you might wanna explore grief, you know, that this client’s having, and I was like, grief. And then I read a little further and it said, they lost a pet like six weeks ago. I was like, oh my gosh, they did lose a pet. I forgot about that. So you can ask, this clinical assistant basically to give you.
[00:04:40] You know, options. Where are my blind spots? What am I missing? That kind of thing. What collateral contact should I be reaching out to for this client? And then you can literally say, write me a letter for the collateral. Contact based on the assessment, the treatment plan, and the progress notes based on all the information you already have about the client.
[00:04:57] This AI is HIPAA compliant. It can just pull on all the client’s really specific information. It could say, oh, you know, on. 4 24, the client complained that their Lexapro had stopped feeling effective and they decided to go off their medication. Something like that. It’s gonna update that information.
[00:05:13] You could say, Hey, it’s further psychiatrist. I wanna make sure I cover any medication changes, sleep issues mood disturbances, and just put it into a letter so I can send it over to the collateral right there. You can do it, you can put that whole thing together and send it over. Which is incredible.
[00:05:28] So it does all that for you. Of course. Like I said before, we always have to check, right? We have to read back and be like, did they decrease their alexapro or did they stop? Or did they go up to 20 milligrams? Like you always wanna double check those details because it is AI and it’s not infallible.
[00:05:42] So you have to double check this stuff obviously before you’re putting anything to the client record or sending information over to a psychiatrist. I was just working on an ethics presentation, ethics and ai, and one of the things is, you know, we get so busy, it’s so easy to just say. okay, it wrote the note.
[00:05:58] I’m not even gonna read the note. It’s probably pretty good. Whatever. I’ve got my next client coming. I need to go to the bathroom. I need to eat something real quick and just hit complete and then put it in the client chart. That is definitely an ethical issue and I’m sure people do it and have done it because we’re so busy and burned out.
[00:06:13] So you just wanna double check that stuff is my point. Anyway. super excited about Berries new features. If you guys haven’t tried Berries yet, go to hey Berries dot com slash therapist. You get 20 free sessions. You don’t even have to put your credit card in, and then you even get 10 sessions every single month after that.
[00:06:28] So if you’re not ready to commit to like a full-time subscription or anything like that, you still get to use it every single month with 10 sessions at least. And once you use it, it’s like so worth it. I mean, it writes your note, it writes your treatment plan, it gives you a diagnosis, it gives you a summary.
[00:06:43] before the session. Like you could put the, pick the client’s name before you go into the record screen and it tells you everything that you talked about during the last session. It reminds you, it’s like, don’t forget to follow up on blah, blah, blah. Don’t forget to ask about this. then it has a little summary like, here’s what happened in the last session.
[00:06:57] Like a little quick summary. I don’t know about you, but there have definitely been times where I’ve been like, I have no idea what we even talked about last week. I mean, that’s just honest. if you’ve never been there, I’m glad for you because I definitely have, I don’t remember, from week to week when I used to have a huge caseload, it was hard to remember.
[00:07:13] So Berries helps with all of that. And these new features are gonna just blow your mind. So even if you’re not using it, go try it. Try the diagnostic feature. You can do a fake client, there’s a dictate button so it varies. You can dictate the session if you want, you can record the session.
[00:07:28] Or you can drop text just down in the little box, right under, the session note, under the record button. There’s a generate text button too, so you can just drop it in there if you wanna. Just try it and see it and see the diagnostic criteria that comes up. Just make up a fake client and do a dictation.
[00:07:43] See what it comes up with. It’s incredible. You guys are gonna love this. There’s the ability to change the diagnosis anytime you want. There’s ability to get more suggestions about the diagnosis anytime you want. is just crazy. And once you get a new diagnosis, you just click a button and it’s gonna regenerate the treatment plan for you.
[00:07:59] So it’s just, it’s that easy and it’s saving so much time. It’s just incredible. And we have a lot more stuff coming too, which is really cool. Oh, and the thing I didn’t even say is the assistant the HIPAA apply at Chatt BT used to be just in the client chart. So a lot of people didn’t know it was down there, but they’ve moved it to the very top.
[00:08:18] Of the page externally. So now you just click the the chat bot. You can pick what client you wanna talk about with the chat bot, and it’s gonna like bring up that client’s information right there from that screen so you can access it that way now, which makes it a lot easier, a lot more visible.
[00:08:32] I came up with a list, like a cheat sheet of prompts that you can use with the HIPAA compliant CHATT PT inside of Berries. And these prompts are really good and maybe things you haven’t thought of, but I would encourage you to try ’em just with a client. If you have a client, you’re already doing a Berries.
[00:08:46] Just go use the AI assistant and try these prompts. It’s going to blow your mind. one of the prompts is like, what interventions have I not thought of yet? Right. And it’ll be like, oh, looks like you’ve tried this, this, and this, but maybe you haven’t tried ba, ba, ba, and here’s why it might be a good idea to try this.
[00:09:01] Or you could say, I don’t feel like I’m really vibing with this client very well. Maybe there is a different type of therapist that would be better for this client. What type of therapist would you recommend? Stuff like that, and it’s gonna give you these really awesome recommendations based on the client’s information, like the HIPAA compliant information.
[00:09:19] We can do that stuff in chat GBT, but you can never get the specific, ’cause, you can’t put the, the PHI in there. You can’t get super specific about what’s going on with the client. So it’s cool. Check it out. I would love to hear how you use it.
[00:09:32] I have a coupon code too. It’s 50 from Kim, so five zero F-R-O-M-K-Y-M 50 from Kim. You’ll get $50 off your first month, and if you’re a part-time clinician, you can reach out to Berries and they’ll give you a discounted rate to use Berries if you’re a part-time clinician, only using a certain number of sessions a month.
[00:09:51] Okay. I’m excited. I can’t wait. I’ll put a video up shortly and link it to the bottom of this. If you’re listening to this as the podcast or on YouTube, we’ll put the links down there for you. Okay, bye everybody. Have a great day.
