84. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Manus, Which AI Tool Should You Use?

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Manus, Which AI Tool Should You Use?

Choosing the right AI Tool can feel overwhelming when there are so many options, and everyone seems to be using something different. In this episode of Run Your Private Practice with AI, I break down the differences between ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Manus, and how each one fits into real therapist workflows. I talk through what these tools are actually good at, where they shine, and how thinking in terms of ecosystems instead of just one platform can help you save time and create a more flexible, sustainable practice.

AI Tips You Don’t Want to Miss:

  • Why it helps to think of each AI Tool as a toolbox rather than trying to find one perfect platform.
  • How ChatGPT works as a flexible starting point for admin, documentation templates, and marketing tasks.
  • Where Claude shines for long form thinking, big documents, and nuanced writing.
  • How Gemini fits naturally inside a Google Workspace, including HIPAA-compliant options.
  • Why Manus has become my go-to for agent-based work, content creation, and building simple apps fast.

[00:00:00] Hey everybody. Welcome back to another episode of the podcast. You’ve got me in my car today just doing the traveling therapist thing, going from place to place, trying to get medical appointments in. You know, that’s one thing, being a traveling therapist, I know that’s not this podcast, but being a traveling therapist, like medical appointments are so hard.

[00:00:18] So I get these spurts, like when I’m in places where there’s lots of doctors and I just go from appointment to appointments. So that’s what I’m doing right now, just driving around getting my doctor’s appointments in. How fun is that? Anyway. I wanna talk to you about something that I was working on this morning before I left the house, and that is the February module inside of the Clinical AI Club.

[00:00:40] I am pretty excited about it. So if you’ve been sort of AI curious for a while, maybe you’re new to listening to this or new to ai, that kind of thing, you probably have been in ChatGPT a few times. You’ve played around with prompts. You’ve heard people maybe throw around names of other like large language models.

[00:00:57] That’s what ChatGPT is, the large language model. There’s other ones out there and I get that question all the time. Which one do I use? Which one’s the best one? That sort of thing. you might hear people talk about Claude, Gemini, Manus, but you still don’t really feel like you have an idea of the right system or a real system for using these tools in your practice.

[00:01:17] And I get that question a lot. And actually I did last month in the clinical AI club and that’s what really prompted me to do a deep dive into these, so for this episode, I wanna talk a little bit about all of that and give you more information about each of these main LLMs. There’s tons of them out there, but these are kind of the main ones that I think are probably the most relevant for therapists.

[00:01:38] And you’ll talk to one therapist who is maybe using Claude, another ones like super into Gemini and the Google Workspace Suite and all that. And then Manus, I use Manus for just about everything that’s pretty much replaced ChatGPT for me at this point.

[00:01:53] Anyway so in the clinical AI club, you know, I started that almost four years ago now, which I can’t even believe. Like right after ChatGPT came out, and there’s a module in there. The first module is like ChatGPT for beginners. And there’s like some just like basic stuff in there and somebody in the club last month when we had our live implementation session, she was like, are you gonna update this?

[00:02:16] She said it in a nice way, but I’m like, you’re right. It’s terrible. Like it’s so old. Like I haven’t even looked at it in a couple of years. So I need to update it. So that’s why I am redoing it and I’m talking about these tools and just their developments in the last maybe couple of months. They’re actually more like a ecosystem now.

[00:02:35] More than just like an LLM. So it used to be like, ChatGPT, it was just a chat bot essentially that you would talk to. And all of these were Claude Gemini. They’ve evolved big time. So I right now am doing a deep dive into all of the ecosystem, so to speak, so I can get a better understanding of them and then give them to the clinical AI Club members to also then figure out, you know, mainly which one is best for them to use.

[00:03:02] Because it’s like overwhelming really. It’s like, do I use Gemini? Do I use Claude? Do I use ChatGPT? Manus, which one do I use? So, in the club this month, in February coming, it’s gonna be just like a deep dive into each one. And then I think I’m gonna build out like a, like an AI tool basically to help guide people through which one’s the best one for them.

[00:03:22] But anyway, I wanted to talk a little bit about ’em over here too, so you guys could get a better understanding of each one. They have their own strengths, their own integrations, their own like sort of sweet spots for therapist workflows. So if you only understand really one of them, you’re missing a lot of options to save time and make your practice more flexible with some of the other ones. So I wanna talk about all of that.

[00:03:44] So it’s almost more helpful to think of these as tool boxes depending on what you’re trying to do. So let’s start with ChatGPT. It’s evolved from a simple little chat box into a more of a hub of tools all of them have. But you can use it for almost anything. drafting your notes, emails, policies, handouts, blog posts, captions, that sort of thing.

[00:04:04] Then there’s custom gpt that work like mini apps for specific things like SEO copywriting, SOPs and that sort of thing. it’s gotten to a point where it plays nicely with other tools through integrations for a therapist. ChatGPT is often the easiest first entry into ai. It’s the most popular one I think out there, and probably one that anybody listening to this is at least tried at this point.

[00:04:28] You can offload a ton of admin and marketing tasks to ChatGPT. You can create templates for documentation, progress notes without PHI obviously in there. You could put in prompts for educational materials. You could standardize things in your practice, all of that. Intake scripts, FAQs, answers, cancellation policies, all of that.

[00:04:48] You could put it in And then you’re not rewriting the same emails over and over again, or having to go back and revisit, revisit your policies ’cause they’re already in there and you could just kind of prompt it to update them or revamp them.

[00:04:58] ChatGPT is like a Swiss Army knife kind of. It’s like versatile, powerful, great as a default thinking partner for your practice. Okay, so that’s. It’s sort of ChatGPT, and it’s, it’s, it’s useful. I mean, I use it still almost every day for something, but Manus is replacing that for me.

[00:05:16] And then we have Claude. Claude has really leaned into being a deep thinking workspace. I don’t use it a lot, but I know that people swear by Claude, like that’s their favorite LLM especially for marketing and that sort of thing.

[00:05:29] And I feel like I probably should use it more, especially after this deep dive. ’cause I’ve really been getting into Claude just learning more about it and it, it handles big documents. ChatGPT Will too, but Claude’s really good at that. Big chunks of text. It handles it very well. It’s fantastic for nuanced reflective writing and de-identified case materials.

[00:05:50] It can serve as more of a project brain than just a quick question and answer bot. And for therapists, Claude is really helpful when you wanna summarize or rework long de-identified supervision notes or training content, that sort of thing. Drafting psychoeducational materials, blog posts, it’s all good for that. You can think of Claude as like a colleague who loves long form in depth thinking and helps you turn messy ideas into clear structured content.

[00:06:18] Then there’s Gemini. If you live in the Google workspace, which I am, I do have an account, but I haven’t dug into it enough. I really wanna find a Google workspace expert to come do a presentation in the club. I’m working on that, thinking about that. But for this month’s content, I’m just gonna do a deep dive into the workspace and give a lot of information about it, how you can use it. It’ll do things. Gemini will do things like talk to your docs, your sheets, your slides, your Gmail, and there’s like a, you know, HIPAA compliant version that you can have inside of the Google workspace.

[00:06:50] A lot of people are using the Google workspace. As they’re like EHR, and now Gemini is integrated into all of that. Gemini is like their, their chat bot. So you can have Gemini running while you’re looking at your sheets or answering emails, that sort of thing. And if you have the HIPAA compliant, BAA, you can do all of that, not have to worry about PHI and that sort of thing.

[00:07:11] Now in the club, I’m gonna be diving into the Google agents that are deploying now, and you can deploy them to do little tasks for you inside of the workspace. I’ve heard mixed results with those, but like with any of these, when they launch initially, they’re not great, but they do get better.

[00:07:29] So I think that’s gonna be like, I hate to say game changer, but game changer really for therapists that are already in that HIPAA compliant workspace. And I did another episode of this podcast about that, but the more I’m digging in, the more I’m like, oh my gosh, this is like super cool. And of course, in that club I’m gonna give a lot more details about everything that you can do with that ecosystem.

[00:07:49] So with Gemini, Gemini lets you stay in. Like that environment, your Google workspace environment that you’re already comfortable with, if you’re using those tools. Like I’ve got my Google Drive, I’ve got everything over there, but I’m not using workspace. ‘Cause when I set it up, it was a personal account and apparently you have to have like a, like a business account to be able to use the Google workspace most effectively.

[00:08:10] So I need to change that and, and start doing that myself. And inside of the ecosystem. That Gemini ecosystem, the Google workspace ecosystem, you don’t have to like copy and paste and go back and forth between different LLMs and that sort of thing. It’s all right there, like integrated inside of what you’re trying to do the work over there.

[00:08:28] So I read one thing that was like, Geminis, like your built-in co-pilot in the Google universe smoothing out the little content and planning tasks that you’re already doing, but it, like already knows like your Google workspace brain. So it has access to all of that.

[00:08:41] And then Manus, Manus is. and I’ve talked about this in another episode, I believe just Manus specific, but Manus is agentic more so than all of the other ones. The other ones all have agents, but they’re kind of crappy agents.

[00:08:55] ChatGPT’s agent, I can’t really get it to do anything great. And I even upgraded to the $200 level to try to get it to do more, but it’s not great for me. Manus’ agent is next level amazing. It’ll take over your screen just like the perplexity comment browser that I think I talked about in the last episode, which is also life changing, but Manus, Manus can do everything. And that’s why it’s really replacing ChatGPT for me. And as a therapist, I highly recommend that you guys go check this out for like marketing, social media, content, writing helping with your non-client, emails, slides, presentations, all of that.

[00:09:33] And it has an ecosystem built into it too. So all of these have connectors now where you can just kind of, open them up and connect them to other things that you work on. Obviously nothing with PHI in it, but you know, your Google ecosystem, if you don’t have client information in there Zapier, Canva, ChatGPT’s got a Canva connector now, it’s not great, but you know, all of them have got these connectors that you can go and kind of put ’em all together.

[00:09:59] And then Manus, of course, all of ’em are starting to have these capabilities that they can build out these little apps. And I’ve done an episode on this already and, I actually released a couple of apps that I’ve built and I’ve sold them and I’m making money, like recurring passive income on these apps.

[00:10:14] But Manus is the one I go to for this. It builds these full stack apps. So, you know, I talk about this a lot in the AI club recently. The more that these little apps are becoming more popular, if there’s like a certain skill that you’re always teaching or doing, using Manus for that is just super helpful because you can go over and say like, Hey, I always do this breath work, exercise with my clients, turn it into an app.

[00:10:39] It’ll do it in about like two seconds. You can deploy it to the app store, you can sell it on the app store, or you can just take the link and give it to your clients and they’ll have that tool to use within their browser. So you just give them the link and they’ll click through and they can use that anytime you want to, you can monetize these.

[00:10:57] I’ve monetized mine. I monetize one completely by just connecting it to Stripe. You can also just take the code and go put it in another system like Kartra. I put mine, some of mine in Kartra, which is like my membership platform, my community platform where I, you know, house all my courses and everything.

[00:11:14] There’s so much you can do and every day with Manus, they’re releasing something else that just blows your mind. Like, they’re using Nana Banana, which is a Google product for images, but if you tell it to do something, it makes the most beautiful slides I’ve ever seen. I don’t even give it details really.

[00:11:32] I just say like, make a slide deck on this topic, and it goes out and researches comes back and makes a slide deck based on, you know, knowing that I’m a therapist, knowing who my audience is, and then the topic and it comes up with it itself. And then you can tell it to make a script to go with it, and it’ll give you a script for each slide that it just created for you.

[00:11:52] The possibilities are endless with all of these tools. Um, Something else coming back, circling back with Claude that I’m not even exactly sure how to explain it all ’cause it’s just amazing and I’ve got these, um. infographics basically that explain it. But there’s, Claude is a whole system now. They’ve got Claude, they’ve got Claude Cowork, they’ve got Claude Skills, they’ve got Claude, um, claude code.

[00:12:18] So all of that goes together and Claude Healthcare was just launched, so that’s a HIPAA compliant healthcare network basically in there. And I, I heard one person explain it like you can build a Claude skills, which is sort of like a ChatGPT gpt you can build it and have it deployed in HIPAA compliant healthcare system and it’ll go out and research ICD 10 codes that sort of thing come back.

[00:12:43] I even heard an example of where somebody was in the HIPAA compliant enterprise level of Claude, which I think all this is gonna get more affordable, eventually took the skills bot that they built out with the ICD 10 codes and got a denial letter from the insurance company and applied it to the skills Claude Code skills that it built out, and basically had it write a denial letter.

[00:13:05] It told it to like, find all the holes in the denial and why they said it was a denial to go out and research their policies and procedures. Found that there was definitely like discrepancies in their policies and procedures around why they were denying it. Said that it was something that they could, the person could take them to court for and show the discrepancies and probably win, and that would probably cost.

[00:13:31] You know, the healthcare company, a ton of money to do that. Instead, they should just not deny it and pay the claim. And they did all of that with Claude code, Claude skills, and even had to draft a letter like a lawyer would. So, you know, that’s, I’m not sure if I’m explaining it very well, but that is definitely something that’s going on with that whole Claude ecosystem, which I’m still exploring myself and hope to have a very good explanation inside of the clinical AI Club for those of you listening that are in there. You’re gonna get a much better explanation of that.

[00:14:02] Now I could go on and on just messing around with all these, I feel like I could talk for two hours about each one and all the cool things that it does, but taking all together, these four tools really cover almost anything you wanna do in your business. I know HIPAA is a huge thing, but that, Google Workspace HIPAA compliant option really fills that need right there.

[00:14:23] So you can go in and do a lot with that just by having the BAA, the HIPAA compliant, BAA for the Google workspace. The rest of this can help with the rest of your business in lots of very creative ways.

[00:14:35] So ChatGPT and Claude help you get ideas out of your head. Put them into little bots that can help you. You train them specifically on what’s going on and what you want them to be experts in. And you can use ’em for that.

[00:14:49] And then Gemini AI brings your existing Google workflows into a space where you can just kind of have a whole ecosystem that you’re in and out of with, with, you know, the HIPAA compliance. And then Manus helps turn all of that into a more polished, visible, online presence for you, which is what I use it a lot for.

[00:15:09] Just making things look pretty and doing it fast. I’m not spending a lot of time trying to, you know, be a graphic designer and think of like the right words to say in a presentation. It does all that for you. It’s pretty amazing. So anyway, I hope all of that’s helped. This is sort of like, I’m working on a tech stack and a way to help, especially the members of the AI club.

[00:15:28] You know, decide on which of these ecosystems is best for them. ’cause a lot of them do have price points and you do have to pay for memberships and that sort of thing. So I’m trying to help decipher all of this, give people a little more idea if they’re stuck with what they’re looking to do in their business.

[00:15:42] So I hope this helps give you more information. If you have any questions, let me know. If you’re in the clinical AI club, this is all gonna be in the hub in February much more detailed, especially like for beginners, AI 1 0 1. Like a good starting point because I need to update all that anyway, it’s been quite some time since I’ve really gotten in there and updated all the information about just like AI 1 0 1 in general.

[00:16:06] It used to just be ChatGPT. Now there’s so many options. So anyway, I hope this is helpful. Go check ’em out, play around with them and see what you think.
