How AI Helps ADHD Therapists Run Better Businesses with Maren Londahl-Smidt
If you have ever wondered how AI helps ADHD therapists build a business that works with their brain instead of against it, this conversation will give you a clear picture of what that actually looks like day-to-day. In this episode of Run Your Private Practice with AI, I sit down with Maren Londahl-Smidt, a therapist turned money coach who has been all in on AI for the last two years and says she could not run her business without it.
Maren walks through the tools she leans on most, why ClickUp and Claude have become her go-to pair, and how AI helps her stay organized without forcing herself into a system that does not fit how her brain works. She also shares what led her to build a client-facing out-of-network reimbursement tool, and what she is launching next with Profit for Keeps founder Amber Dugger.
AI Tips You Don’t Want to Miss:
- How ClickUp Brain takes a messy brain dump and turns it into an organized task list, complete with due dates and assignees.
- Why Maren records with ClickUp Clips, lets Brain draft the SOP first, then sends it to a paid AI agent only for formatting, so she isn’t burning credits on the whole process.
- How running the same market research prompt through Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini helped her confirm a gap nobody else was filling.
- How one AI-assisted brainstorm about out-of-network reimbursement turned into a digital product with insurance scripts and email templates built in.
- Why Maren won’t hand AI her actual IP, and uses it instead to polish a draft or catch what she’s missing.

[00:01:22] Hey, everybody. Welcome back to another episode of “Run Your Private Practice with AI” podcast. This is my third guest, y’all. I’m so excited. I’ve been having guests come in, which is a new thing for this podcast. I’m really excited about it, though. And I’m particularly excited to have Maren here with us today.
[00:01:37] Kym: Maren is– I mean, you were a beta tester for the Thera AI Hub, right? Yeah. I
[00:01:44] Maren: Yes. I’ve, I tell people all the time that I love Kym so much because when she has something new, she sends me a message and I get to be a test
[00:01:53] Kym: I’m like, “Will you test this for me?” And there have been things you’ve tested that I didn’t even release because I was like, “I don’t like it anymore,” so I just
[00:01:59] Maren: Yeah.
[00:01:59] Kym: them.
[00:02:00] Maren: I love doing beta testing
[00:02:01] Kym: my gosh. I love it too. And you’re so good and thorough, and I really appreciate that. But first I’d love if you would just introduce yourself. Like, let’s tell everybody who you are before we, like, dig into all the nitty-gritty of everything you’ve been doing with AI that’s so awesome.
[00:02:14] Maren: Yes. Yes. My name’s Maren Lardahl Smith. I am in Raleigh, North Carolina, if you can’t tell by my accent. And I’m a therapist as well as a money coach, and so I do a lot of things. I tell people it depends on the day, depends on the season, depends on the chapter. But yes, AI has been such a big part of it. And my last, I’d probably say… I mean, I feel like every year is growth, but for sure the last two years. And I also feel like that’s really when AI, we really started to lean into it as therapists.
[00:02:49] Kym: Yeah, for real. Yeah, and I was just, I just recorded another episode before this, just regular episode, and I was just talking about, like, it’s allowed me to scale like 10 times faster than I ever could have before, you know, which is just blows your mind, but it’s also a lot ’cause there’s so much you could do.
[00:03:04] It’s like almost overwhelming in a lot of ways, like everything you could
[00:03:07] Maren: It really is. I said to somebody the other day and I go, “I love AI.” And don’t get me wrong, I don’t want it to go away, but sometimes I feel like I spend so much trying to get AI to do all my things. And then once it’s there, it’s great, but it’s the back
[00:03:23] Kym: The setting it up, right. Yeah. Like we were just talking about that the other day in the membership. It’s like people are like, “Well, I, I put in the skills that you created, but it like doesn’t do it right.” And I’m like, you’ve gotta think of like even skills or GPTs or whatever, right? And you’ve created GPTs and all that.
[00:03:37] You’ve gotta think of it as like an employee that you’ve just hired and you’ve given an SOP to, but it’s not gonna know exactly like all the nuances until you train it to act how you want it to act, you know, with the SOP that you’ve given it, so to speak, the
[00:03:51] Maren: Yeah. No matter if it’s AI or it’s a physical person that you’re bringing on, they need that SOP
[00:03:56] Kym: Exactly. I’m glad you said that ’cause that’s so important. Like you’re not just gonna like hop on AI and then it’s gonna be like amazing. It just doesn’t really work like that, so I’m glad you said that. So tell us, what was going on in your business and in your world when you maybe like first came across the Thera AI Hub and you were like, “You know what?
[00:04:13] I think I need that.” Like what was happening that you decided
[00:04:17] Maren: when did the Thera AI club come out
[00:04:20] Kym: It came out well, I think you were beta testing it like September last year, so it’s almost been a year now.
[00:04:25] Maren: Okay. Yeah, so I was actually in the clinical AI club first, and I feel like that really laid the foundation for me because I learned how to build a lot of the tools. And so I had, at that point I was using ChatGPT a lot, and I had all the custom GPTs, and then Claude decided to show up and I thought, “Oh my gosh, I feel like I’m breaking up.” This is a really bad breakup. And then the… And what I loved about it so much is at that point I had gotten n- much busier, so I did not have the capacity to sit down and say, “Okay, yes, I wanna build this thing. This is what it looks like.” And I couldn’t spend the time building it. And so it’s truly plug and play.
[00:05:10] And again, you know, no matter what tool you’re using, it has to know your voice. It needs to know your business. You can’t just say, “Hey, write this blog,” and bam. You know, you still have to train it, but I don’t have to go and figure out how do I train it? You know, what needs to be in this? You know, or I have to write X amount of blogs on my own for it to be able to understand that
[00:05:30] Kym: Exactly, yeah. In the Clinical AI Club, right, we’re just like talking conceptually, like here’s Claude and here’s all the cool things you could do. But then Thera AI Hub like actually gives you things to plug in to Claude or ChatGPT or whatever, and then be able to actually like start from maybe like 50% ready instead of like zero.
[00:05:49] Maren: Exactly. And I mean, that’s where I think the foundation is so great in the Clinical AI Club because you get to learn about it and, okay, how do I actually use this? You know, what do I want it to do? But then I kind of looked at the Thera AI Hub as a graduation for me is it’s, okay, now I know this, I know what tools I wanna use.
[00:06:09] I just don’t have the time to put it all together
[00:06:11] Kym: That’s a really good way to look at it. So tell us about your ADHD and how, I mean, not just the membership or anything, but just in general, like how has AI helped you with that?
[00:06:21] Maren: Oh my goodness, so many ways. I could not run my business without AI, and I look at it as a support. It’s kind of like my assistant, where I’m not gonna go and say, “Create this thing for me,” and not look at it ever again. But I have so many different ideas, and when… I think it was, it was definitely, I’d actually say probably about two and a half years ago, whenever the note takers, the AI note takers started to come out, and I tried so many.
[00:06:51] And then one of my business coaches said, “Hey, why don’t you try this one?” And then I came across Berries, it was a game changer. And I think that’s whenever it started, and that was kind of where I was overwhelmed with… At that point, I was just starting to kinda dibble dabble in coaching but I was overwhelmed with my private practice.
[00:07:10] I had to figure out, okay, I’m either gonna have to go to a group practice or I’m gonna have to do something differently. I need to figure… VA, and then I added the AI on and it was really a game changer. And I use so many tools with AI and it’s just, it helps me with my executive functioning so much because I’ll have an idea even in the house, I am the world’s worst to start something and I never finish it. I have all my different projects . AI just really helps me with that, and it also helps me stay organized
[00:07:42] Kym: So awesome. Yeah. So I know, I mean, I, have followed you and I know what you’re doing and all that, so maybe we could tell, like, specifically some of the things you’re doing. Like, I know you built some custom GPTs that have helped
[00:07:53] Maren: Yeah
[00:07:54] Kym: in your business and maybe for your coaching clients too. I don’t know if you built custom GPTs
[00:07:58] Maren: Yeah, I’ve, I used one in ChatGPT. I don’t use it as much anymore, but I’ve got some different things coming up that I think we’re gonna be building some and figuring out what platform’s gonna be the best as well.
[00:08:09] Kym: That’s awesome. Do you have, like, one of your custom GPTs you use like a regular or like did you kind of go back to or,
[00:08:16] Maren: so mine are all in ChatGPT, and so now my two main AI tools are ClickUp and Claude. And I go back and forth between the two of them, but I also love that you can use Claude in ClickUp. so I’ve built a lot of projects in there and it just… I mean, it’s just, you can just do so much with it.
[00:08:36] Kym: Let’s talk about that. Okay, ’cause i- in case you guys are listening, you’re like, “What the heck’s ClickUp?” Right? So people that, you know, like, us, like we’ve got coaching businesses too, right? So a lot of people just use their EHR really to manage like clients and all that. But then ClickUp is like, what would you call ClickUp? Like a project management
[00:08:54] Maren: Yeah, it’s like, yeah, project management, but I feel like you can do so much more. I don’t use it as my CRM, which is the Coaching EHR because I use GoHighLevel. But if I did not, a lot of people actually use it for their CRM.
[00:09:09] Kym: Oh,
[00:09:09] Maren: And it’s got so many, yeah, so many automations. Now I do have a client space where I keep my notes and I have a note taker in there and that sort of thing, but I don’t get, keep all the other stuff
[00:09:20] Kym: Yeah. is ClickUp HIPAA compliant? I’ve never even looked at that.
[00:09:23] Maren: They do.
[00:09:24] Kym: Oh, really? I didn’t even know that.
[00:09:27] Maren: Because I don’t use it for my therapy practice, I generally… I mean, I have a list that I’ll say send email to such and such, but I’m not building in there right now, so I don’t have common information, so I don’t, I haven’t needed that. I just use the coaching side, but they did tell me whenever I onboarded that you can get a BAA with it.
[00:09:46] Kym: That’s cool. So tell us about ClickUp’s Brain.
[00:09:49] Maren: Oh my gosh, I
[00:09:50] Kym: I wanna know about this too, ’cause I use ClickUp also for my business. There’s lots of other… There’s like Trello, Asana uh, Notion, right? And ClickUp. But my- Mered and I both happen to use ClickUp. So I haven’t even had the time to look at ClickUp Brain yet, so I wanna hear, like, this is me, my guilty pleasure, like picking Mered’s brain about it. But it might give other people ideas, like, if they hear about what Brain is and what it does. Can
[00:10:14] Maren: Yeah. So
[00:10:15] Kym: that?
[00:10:17] Maren: ClickUp is actually funny because whenever I start, first started using ClickUp, I knew I had to have a notetaker. You know, my ADHD self cannot remember stuff, and so it’s gotta be there. And so I used Fathom for a little bit, and I do like Fathom, but ClickUp has a notetaker in the whole tool.
[00:10:35] And so whenever… I basically have my Zoom link and it automatically goes to whether it’s this or a client meeting or, you know, whatever it is, and it not only it records it, but it gives you a summary and transcript. And then I was on a call with somebody probably about two weeks ago, and she asked me something.
[00:10:56] I said, “Oh my gosh, what did this person tell me? I know who it is. Let me go find it.” And I went to that ClickUp notetaker, and I asked it, and it told me exactly what I needed. Something like, “She told me about this tool,” or, “We talked about this,” and it told me right on the spot, which for me, my ADHD is I’m losing stuff all the time.
[00:11:18] So if I have somebody that says, “Yes, I know where this is. You go here.”
[00:11:22] Kym: That’s amazing. So is it recording us right now? Like, what do you have… Or do you have to give it access to the, the meeting room, like with
[00:11:30] Maren: No. So it’s probably not because it’s got as… It goes in that Zoom room, but it’ll go in other meetings. I don’t know if it is or not actually.
[00:11:39] Kym: Oh, okay. I’m just
[00:11:41] Maren: We’ll have to see
[00:11:41] Kym: know, this is me geeking out on AI stuff, but I’ve been you know, I use Fathom for my note recorders, but it always has to come into the room with you so people know it’s in the room, which obviously if we’re talking about therapy and AI, we want consent. But with like meetings that you’re going…
[00:11:56] Like, I go to a lot of meetings, but I’ve been eyeing Granola AI lately, ’cause Granola records the whole meeting, but it’s not in the meeting. So I’ve been,
[00:12:04] Maren: So ClickUp’s like that on Zoom. It’s not on Google Meet, and I think that’s a Google Meet thing in my Zoom it’s… You would never know that it’s there outside of it gets sent you a little chat and says, “ClickUp notetaker is here,” sort of thing. Yeah. And I’ll send you mine because we were… Was it two weeks ago we did a live?
[00:12:24] And it, it was on there, so I’ll send it to you so you can see it
[00:12:27] Kym: I want a copy of that too so I could share it. I don’t think I ever got that, but yeah. For your, for your ClickUp to hear.
[00:12:33] Maren: I know,
[00:12:34] Kym: ClickUp, Mira needs to email that to Kim.
[00:12:37] Maren: Come back, come back. Yeah, but there’s just so many things it can do. And Brain, now they have Brain 2, and so they’ve upgraded it. And I can tell it that I want, you know, this list. It will make the list for me.
[00:12:55] So I’m going through a lot huge launch right now because I’m launching a new program. And I actually kind of put everything together and I brain dumped it and I said, “Okay, I need you to… I need to figure out how to organize this. I don’t… Everything’s messy.” It literally took it, made a list, put who– the due dates, all the things in the task, assigned it to people. That would’ve taken me hours to do.
[00:13:21] Kym: That’s amazing.
[00:13:22] Maren: Yes, it’s so cool. It’s so cool
[00:13:25] Kym: think through this ’cause I’ve got a team, right? I’ve got like an e- podcast editor, I’ve got video editors, social media, I’ve got a business manager, I’ve got a VA. Like, to be able to just like brain dump in there and then know who to assign it to within ClickUp, like
[00:13:39] Maren: amazing.
[00:13:39] Kym: Crazy. I never even thought of that
[00:13:41] Maren: Yeah, it’s so great. And same for me, I just started working with my content creator, and we were talking about how to do everything, and she goes, “I know you have– I know you use ClickUp. I’ve never used it,” and I told her about it, and she goes, “This sounds really cool. Can we try that?”
[00:13:56] Kym: Oh, wow.
[00:13:57] Maren: actually… And so you can have guests on it as well. So yeah. And then you have different workspaces like you would on any of the other ones. And so I have everybody in the one workspace because it’s, you’re paid… There’s a free version, but I use the paid now, and so it’s per workspace. So I just added a new space for her.
[00:14:15] So it’s like workspace space, folders, lists, so it kind of goes in this, you know.
[00:14:20] Kym: Wow
[00:14:21] Maren: A lot of people get overwhelmed in the beginning because it can do so much. So what I always tell people is just start small. Start with your to-do list.
[00:14:29] And I’ve even got documents with, you know, all of my ideas. And so I love Claude, you know, it’s one of my favorite tools, but even with Claude, I have to go and copy this and put it into Claude so it remembers it
[00:14:43] Kym: Yeah. Yes. And I mean, Claude has got the ClickUp in MCP connector. Are you using that? Okay.
[00:14:49] Maren: I do use that, which is great
[00:14:51] Kym: that’s very cool ’cause I will go to Claude sometimes ’cause I can’t find crap in ClickUp, I’ll be honest with you. I’m really bad in ClickUp. I’ll go to Claude and I’ll say like, I know my social media team needs me to record something, but I literally cannot find it, and it’s all in ClickUp ’cause they put it in ClickUp and everybody else can use it fine, but I can’t for some reason.
[00:15:11] So I’ll ask Claude to go find it for me over there, but I’m sure that Brain could do that
[00:15:15] Maren: Oh, yeah. You can ask it to find stuff, and I’ll say something. So as I was kind of, developing some different things, I had shifted and I realized I didn’t put in my
[00:15:16] Kym: up.
[00:15:25] Maren: QuickHub document ’cause I was in Claude.
[00:15:28] Kym: Oh, no
[00:15:28] Maren: started giving me the wrong one. I said, “No, no, no, that’s, that’s not right.” And it goes, “Oh, sorry. Give me the correct one.” So it is
[00:15:37] Kym: does with the ADD keep you organized.
[00:15:40] Maren: Yes. I have, and I actually created a space. I’ve just started doing this ’cause I’m getting my website redesigned.
[00:15:46] And what did I call it? I have to look and see what I called it. What did I call this space? Unorganized stuff. And so I can drop everything in that folder that’s not put together and have all the other spaces organized.
[00:15:59] Kym: That’s so cool. Oh my gosh. Yeah, the possibilities are just totally endless with this stuff. It’s just what, I mean, it’s just, again, well, like we said in the beginning, a little overwhelming ’cause it’s like you could do so much of it. But I hope somebody listening can maybe get some ideas if they’re running a side hustle or trying to like have that branch of their business or whatever, something like ClickUp.
[00:16:18] Maren: it’s great. It even builds my SOP– And it even builds my SOPs for me.
[00:16:23] Kym: Tell us about that. Can you explain that?
[00:16:25] Maren: so when I was in my therapy practice, it was just, I didn’t have a group practice. I had a part-time VA, so I really didn’t need SOPs.
[00:16:32] Kym: Yeah
[00:16:34] Maren: And then I built a coaching business, and you have to have SOPs.
[00:16:38] Kym: Oh my God, yes
[00:16:40] Maren: you cannot do it without, without SOPs. And so I was trying to figure out, okay, what do I even write here? What do I do? And so ClickUp also has agents. So Brain is, you know, unlimited. So it’s basically, if you think of Claude, but just for ClickUp, you know, that’s their version. And then you’ve got the next level, which are the AI agents. And so I actually build a SOP builder in that.
[00:17:05] So now what I do is I will actually have… And there’s– So you know how we have Loom? ClickUp has clips, And it has a transcript from it. So I will actually have a call, and I’ll record something, and then I’ll tell Brain to build an SOP from it. And then I’ll take it to the agent.
[00:17:25] The agent could do it, but it’s more credit, so I just try not to– I don’t wanna run through all my credits if I don’t have to. And so then I make it pretty, and it organizes it in the SOP space.
[00:17:36] Kym: So smart. And that, that’s just an AI hack in general. Like build it, plan it out somewhere that’s not gonna charge you a ton of credits, and then have the thing that’s really smart with all the credits, like actually build the thing. That’s so smart
[00:17:48] Maren: Yeah, and, uh, ’cause it knows the format, and so the regular one won’t have any of the pretty blocks or anything. It’ll just be like one, two, three, four, five. And then I take it to the AI agent, and then it does all my color blocks. It gives me the thing that I love, and everything follows the same format
[00:18:02] Kym: That is so awesome. Oh my gosh, I love It,
[00:18:05] Maren: it’s amazing
[00:18:06] Kym: it, is so important to note this ’cause almost everything, even you know, I even use like the Claude, like, browser extension to like help me figure out new like, you know, not programs, but like things I’ll sign up for, like, Open Art I signed up for recently and that kind of thing.
[00:18:20] Like, I’ll just open it over there and I’ll tell it to like navigate and get things set up and do all this crap for me ’cause I cannot figure this stuff out . Like my brain just… I will spend like 12 hours like trying to find a button, you know? So it’s, it’s so
[00:18:33] Maren: Okay, I’m going to find it. I’m going to find it.
[00:18:35] Kym: It’s like, how do I set up an SOP in- inside of ClickUp for my whole team?
[00:18:39] But what I’m hearing you say is like, literally ask the brain to organize it and then get the agent to set the whole thing up or vice versa.
[00:18:45] Maren: Yeah. Yeah, exactly. ‘Cause I, my agent with ClickUp, it’s got documents and then you can actually– they’re more so like blocks, so they’re actually bigger than a highlight, so it’ll stand out to you. So when I’m doing something, I need something that jumps out at me,
[00:19:02] Kym: Yeah, absolutely
[00:19:04] Maren: “Hey, stop. This is actually really important.”
[00:19:06] So yeah
[00:19:09] Kym: hearing you say like, ClickUp replaces Loom, it probably replaces Fathom, you know, and these are two tools I’m paying for separately, you know?
[00:19:18] Maren: Yeah.
[00:19:19] Kym: and
[00:19:19] Maren: so great. And I’ve tried to argue with Claude on multiple times that I wanna use Loom or even when I was really starting to build ClickUp, I say, “But are you sure I don’t need Notion? Are you sure that this one’s not better?” And so with ADHD, I don’t know if you live by this, but this is literally my life in a snapshot is everything needs a home.
[00:19:40] And if it’s out of sight, it’s out of mind. And so ClickUp, I can see everything all at once.
[00:19:46] Kym: Yes. Now definitely I’ve got like super smart reminders, so like literally the, well, I, my brain didn’t set this up, my ClickUp, but my business manager did. So any… She has like statuses, like Kim needs to do this or Leslie needs to do this, and then we literally like click it off to the next person.
[00:20:05] So, I get the reminders because I’m the exact same way. Like literally if you don’t remind me today, it is gone. Like I, I cannot remember to do it. Yeah.
[00:20:14] Maren: Yeah, it is not happening whatsoever. Yeah. I mean, it’s just so cool how much you can do with it and you know, to just say, “Hey, I have this idea.” And then my executive function will have the idea, but I need like the finishing pieces to wrap it up in the pretty
[00:20:29] Kym: yeah. Yeah, and you don’t wanna figure out how to package it. Just let the smart AI package it for you in a nice, pretty way.
[00:20:35] Maren: Oh, yes.
[00:20:36] Yeah. I mean, there’s just so many tools and options and figuring out what’s gonna work for us.
[00:20:41] Kym: That’s amazing. so you’ve got a launch coming up. let’s talk about, one, I just want you to share with everybody, like, what you’re launching ’cause it’s super cool, and two, like, how did AI help you launch it?
[00:20:52] Maren: Oh my goodness, yes. so many pieces of this. So I’m a money coach. I call myself a cash flow strategist to make it all pretty.
[00:20:59] Kym: Love it. Love it. Love
[00:21:00] Maren: And so the way I describe to people is, “I’m not your accountant, I’m not your bookkeeper, but I’m the one that is here to help you figure out how much money do you need to make, what does your money need to do, and how can we design your business to support the life that I hope you’re gonna love.
[00:21:15] And if you don’t right now, how, how can we make that happen?”
[00:21:18] And even more so with ADHD is our capacity, and that’s something I have really taken in and I’ve noticed that with myself, ’cause that’s what happened in my therapy business is, okay, yeah, everybody’s saying you need to see X amount of people, but my capacity is not that.
[00:21:35] You know, my brain can only handle so much. You know, I need to be able to take breaks and more vacations and things like that. I’ve actually went through my Profit for Keep certification. I recently got fully certified, and so I’m actually the only Profit for Keeps coach working exclusively with therapists.
[00:21:53] So super cool, and it’s been just such a cool journey, you know, just learning about how much money impacts our life. And so I was talking with Amber Dugger, who’s the founder of Profit for Keeps. She’s also a Profit First professional, and she has been for many years. And I can’t even remember how the conversation started, but she said something to me along the lines of, “Oh, I wonder if…
[00:22:20] What do you think about this?” And I’m a responder, I’m a manifesting generator, if you’re familiar with human design, which I have a love-hate relationship with, ’cause sometimes I’m like , “We don’t need to create anything else today. Can we please…”
[00:22:33] Kym: we could spend about three hours talking about mine. I’m the g- a generator. You know, you’re manifesting, I’m a, just a generator, so it’s like it never shuts up. The ideas never
[00:22:42] Maren: does not. Oh my gosh, it does not. And so she gave me this idea, and I have come to terms about I really learned about my creativity when… It started when I started my private practice, but it really, I was able to really tap into that when I started my coaching business because that kind of had its freedom to say, “Oh, okay, let’s do this, or let’s do this.”
[00:23:03] And so that’s where it started. Within, I tell people I can probably have a business created for you in about a half a day if we work together.
[00:23:12] Kym: Same. I literally have a coaching intensive that’s like, “Bring me your idea. In eight weeks, we are gonna literally have the thing launched,” and I’m gonna build out all the AI tools to help you do it,
[00:23:23] Maren: Exactly
[00:23:25] Kym: love doing that. I hate the details. I don’t know if you’re like this, but I hate the details after, right?
[00:23:29] I just
[00:23:29] Maren: Oh, yeah.
[00:23:30] Kym: I like to, to build it, start it, get it going, and then I’m like, “Okay, next.”
[00:23:35] Maren: I’m done. Yeah. Yeah, I’m bored. And so that’s what happened, as Amber was talking about, we were, you know, just kind of brainstorming this, and then my, my responder in me took that and literally started, all the wheels started to spin. And so we had, both of us, when we started talking about therapists with ADHD, it was, “This is it.”
[00:23:57] This is– And it was just a light bulb, ’cause I have so many of my clients that have been asking for this, you know, within… ‘Cause I’ve been doing mostly one-on-one work, and which I love, but they were asking for community. They were asking, “Who else is doing it?” You know, “I wanna do this, but I want other people that get it.”
[00:24:15] And so that’s where this cohort is called the ADHD Practice and Profit Cohort. And so we’re truly building your money systems with you, and this is the coolest thing that I’m so excited about. We have a therapist that’s going to be– So Amber’s gonna be working with the therapist, building it. And then I’m gonna be in the Zoom room with everybody else.
[00:24:39] We’re capping it at 24 seats because we want you– we don’t want it to be something where you’re gonna get lost, and that’s so important. And so we’re gonna be building it together, not go watch the module and do it on your own.
[00:24:52] So it’s truly built on body doubling and co-working. So we’re gonna have the implementation, but we’re also gonna have body doubling and just lots of… Really, it’s gonna be built in a way that we know ADHD, we need shiny objects. We need community. I know myself, I’m gonna fall off of it, so if this is gonna happen to me, I know it’s gonna happen to you.
[00:25:14] And that’s okay, because we start something and then it gets hard and we don’t go there. But let’s, let’s slow down and figure out what’s hard so we can personalize it for you.
[00:25:25] Kym: That’s amazing. how would you say AI helped you develop these? Is this like you just, like you were saying, like brain dump the idea and then it’s like, ” help me make this into an
[00:25:34] Maren: I would– Yeah, so I just really, it kind of started, we knew there was something in there, and so it had started, but then I kind of started just giving it ideas. I tell people this all the time is, ” Don’t give it your intellectual property, because that’s yours,” you know?
[00:25:51] But it’s more the ideas and things like that is I’ll dump it in. Then I’ll– it’ll say something, I’ll be like, “Oh my gosh, there’s an idea from that,” you know? And so it just turned into something amazing, and I think it’s gonna be really great
[00:26:06] Kym: That’s so cool. Did you use AI to help with like landing pages and like building out that kind of stuff
[00:26:12] Maren: Yes, I have.
[00:26:13] so I’ve definitely used AI for some of the different things. And so even with my market research, AI was so helpful in that.
[00:26:23] Kym: Nice
[00:26:24] Maren: And ’cause I was– I didn’t wanna go and put all this time and energy in something if there was something already there. I couldn’t find anybody in the money side that specialized with ADHD.
[00:26:35] You know, I have ADHD, I’m a therapist, and so I thought, “Well, if I’m trying to find this, there’s no way other people are…” You know? And I’ve had clients that I’ve worked with that will say, “I’ve done this, I’ve done this, I’ve done this, and they couldn’t help me
[00:26:49] Kym: Mm-hmm.
[00:26:49] Maren: And that’s just heartbreaking for me, so the market research was gold.
[00:26:54] And I think it was a prompt that you have in your TheraHub or one of your tools . There’s a market research prompt in there, And it just put it all together.
[00:27:03] Kym: Oh, you use that. Oh, that’s so cool. I love hearing that. Oh my
[00:27:06] Maren: Yeah, and I did it in Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini to
[00:27:12] Kym: I, yeah, I love that.
[00:27:14] Maren: Yeah, and I did
[00:27:15] Kym: best output, you think?
[00:27:16] Maren: I think Claude
[00:27:17] Kym: Yeah.
[00:27:18] Maren: Yeah. I think I would say Claude and ChatGPT.
[00:27:21] I’ll use Gemini for some things, but– And if I probably trained it more, it would probably do better. But, you know, it’s kind of my background one of, “Hey, I don’t know what to cook for dinner. Can you give me some options?”
[00:27:32] Kym: Yeah. It’s– you know, I don’t know if you’ve seen all the new releases from ChatGPT in the last couple weeks, but I’ve gotta do a module for us in the, in the club, in the hub, because it’s pretty crazy, The agents, the super agents, and the new, like, Thera, Sol, and God, what’s the third one?
[00:27:47] There’s three layers. They’re almost like Sonnet, Opus, and Fable. So I don’t know if you’ve played with it at all, and they’re a- they released agents that I think are gonna replace the custom GPTs.
[00:27:57] Maren: that’ll be great. So that’s kind of like ClickUp, how it has the agents there. And then if you already have everything in ChatGPT, it just makes sense
[00:28:03] Kym: yeah. And the skills in the Thera AI Hub now, you can download. I did this the other day.
[00:28:08] I downloaded it and uploaded it to one of the new agents in that workspace, and it totally functions as an agent with the SOP from the skill that I’ve got in the
[00:28:17] Maren: cool. I actually uploaded my skills into ClickUp this morning
[00:28:22] Kym: Oh, you did?
[00:28:24] Maren: has skills now, so it’s pretty recent. And yeah, so it’s still in the beta testing, but so far I’m liking it. And my next thing is I wanna put in my ClickUp agent because I actually took some of the content ones because with the Social Simplified, I can’t remember if what ended up happened
[00:28:44] Kym: I never released it, but yeah, the but you did beta test it and liked it, I guess. But
[00:28:48] Maren: Yes. I
[00:28:49] Kym: by the time I got it ready, it was, like, already obsolete ’cause it’s like there’s skills available. So I was like, “I’m not even gonna release this thing. I spent so much time on that.”
[00:28:57] Maren: before the skills, before I– the skills were there… Well, maybe what I did, I think I talked it through and I said, “This is what I did and I want you to help me create it.” And it actually had three different agents, but then it brought it all into one ’cause it said, “Well, we don’t need three different ones.
[00:29:14] We can just combine this and do it in one and make it easy.” So I bet that ChatGPT will be very similar to that.
[00:29:20] Kym: That’s awesome. Yeah, same. Yeah, it’s– I’ve been messing around with it, and I haven’t even shared this, but ChatGPT released ChatGPT for clinicians. I don’t know if you’ve seen this, but you put your NPI in, and it’s a HIPAA-compliant environment in ChatGPT if you put your… And it’s free for clinicians.
[00:29:41] Maren: that’s huge
[00:29:42] Kym: I haven’t even wrapped my b-brain around it all the w- I don’t know if you know Uriah Gilford, but I figured it out the other day and I sent it to him. I’m like, “I am losing my mind right now,” ’cause all those skills in the Thera AI Hub don’t touch PHI, but now they can because you can use them in the HIPAA-compliant ChatGPT for clinicians, which is just
[00:30:00] Maren: that’s huge
[00:30:01] Kym: I’ve got 1,000 new skills I, I’m already gonna create because of
[00:30:04] Maren: Yeah. Rabbit hole.
[00:30:06] Kym: Yeah, to give it to the Thera AI Hub members, ’cause I’m like, I’m like, “Are you kidding me?” So now you can just like upload a client’s chart there and use these skills with it if you want to.
[00:30:14] Maren: Wow. That, that is fascinating.
[00:30:17] Kym: It’s crazy. Yeah, it’s crazy. So if you, if you go to ChatGPT for clinicians and enter your NPI, you get it for free.
[00:30:24] HIPAA-compliant environment. Yeah
[00:30:25] Maren: Oh, okay. Well, let me know what you find out.
[00:30:28] Kym: I will. I’m gonna do a module
[00:30:29] Maren: put me on the text, the group text.
[00:30:31] Kym: I think September. I think September I’m gonna just do a whole module on it because I’ve neglected ChatGPT ’cause I’ve been so obsessed with Claude,
[00:30:38] Maren: Oh, yeah.
[00:30:39] Kym: I gotta go back over there I love talking to you ’cause you’re, like, as big of an AI geek as me.
[00:30:44] Maren: Oh, yes. Yes. I couldn’t live without it. Sometimes I’ll say, “Do I use it a little too much?” And then I’ll say, “No, this would not be happening.” And I don’t… And I’m so, as I know you are as well, so intentional about the ethics of it and what I actually put in there. So I don’t ask it to create a full idea. You know, I’ll kind of have my draft and I’ll say, “Can you make it pretty for me?”
[00:31:06] Or, “What am I missing?”
[00:31:07] Kym: Yes, yes, yes. Oh my gosh.
[00:31:09] Maren: so there’s just so many different
[00:31:11] Kym: There’s so much.
[00:31:12] Maren: Yeah
[00:31:13] Kym: and you know, I just was reminded there was one other thing that you did with it that I thought was super cool. You built that out-of-network reimbursement tool. Can you share? Because that’s client-facing, and we talk about that a lot in the memberships, too, like
[00:31:25] Maren: Oh my
[00:31:25] Kym: help my clients with AI? So could you share about that? I just remembered.
[00:31:28] Maren: it was so– this was… I was doing coaching when I built it, but whenever I was full-time in private practice, I was out-of-network, and I chose to do that very intentionally because I did not wanna be back in a environment where somebody else was telling me what my clients needed.
[00:31:45] Kym: Yeah. Right
[00:31:47] Maren: And so I would get the question over and over again. “Well, I called my insurance company,” or, “I did this,” or, “I did that.” And I’ve used Mintaya for quite a few years, and they’re great. But I have clients that maybe they have Medicare and they do have out-of-network because I have… They’re not gonna get a lot because that’s not the primary, but…
[00:32:09] that’s TRICARE. So I have somebody that has Medicare as primary and TRICARE secondary. And
[00:32:14] Kym: to use the secondary. Yeah. Mm-hmm.
[00:32:17] Maren: you know, most of the, whether it’s Mintaya or Thrizer, I don’t think any of them will do Medicare ’cause it’s just so different
[00:32:25] Kym: Well, Medicare doesn’t do out-of-network benefits, so
[00:32:27] Maren: Yes. And so because it’s secondary, there’s some sort of… Anyways, and my client just could not figure it out, you know?
[00:32:36] And so I said, “Well, let me make this tip sheet.” So I had started that early on, and then I would have so many therapists that were asking for it, you know, I’d say. And so I just saw what was out there and I said, “There’s a huge need for this.” And so then I took it in the… At that point, I think we were just on ChatGPT.
[00:32:54] I don’t even think Claude was out at that point, or if it was, it was really early on. And so I kind of put my ideas in it, and then I would put this and it would give me this idea, and then I would bounce back. And so it turned into, okay, yes, no, it’s not only just a tip sheet, it’s giving you the steps that your client needs to take to contact their insurance company.
[00:33:14] It’s giving you email templates, because that’s something I hear so much is, “Well, I don’t even know how to go about this,” or, “I don’t know what to say.” It’s got a block in there for what to put in your intake paperwork as well.
[00:33:27] Kym: Nice
[00:33:28] Maren: And I do– I’m really specific about that. I say, “This is not reviewed by an attorney and you need to make sure that, you know, your state,” all of that, but it gives them a great place to get started.
[00:33:39] Kym: That is awesome. Oh
[00:33:41] Maren: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:33:42] Kym: Yeah, I love it
[00:33:44] Maren: It was all from that, you know, all from that.
[00:33:47] Kym: Oh my gosh.
[00:33:49] Maren: And I can’t remember which one it was, if it was the funnel builder or
[00:33:53] Kym: Oh, from s- a tool in the Thera AI Hub? Oh. Oh,
[00:33:56] Maren: from a tool in the Thera AI Hub. And so I started to see it, and then I said, “Well, let me just plug this in and see what happens.” And bam, here we are, digital product.
[00:34:06] Kym: Oh my God, that is so cool. Yeah. It d- did you– So you vibe coded it into an app or is it more like a…
[00:34:13] Maren: No, it’s a digital product, so it’s on my
[00:34:15] Kym: product. Okay
[00:34:16] Maren: Yeah. And then what happens is after you purchase it, it gets emailed to you, and then all the templates, you know, everything comes as a bundle in it
[00:34:28] Kym: Yeah. Oh my God, I love it. That’s so good. And it’s just, I mean, I hope just us talking about it is like kind of waking up other people listening so they can be like, “Well, what can I make with that?”
[00:34:35] Maren: I know.
[00:34:35] Kym: And I say vibe code, right? ‘Cause you could totally vibe code that into an app, right? And offer it as a, a, an app that they log into and can use it that way too.
[00:34:43] Maren: Yeah. Uh, That’s my next thing is wanting to do a little bit more with apps as well
[00:34:48] Kym: They’re addictive, I swear to God. It’s like, it, it, I mean, it, it is really addictive. There’s so many little things you can make, little widgets and that function
[00:34:58] Maren: it’s…
[00:34:59] Kym: super helpful.
[00:35:00] Maren: Yeah, you could just spend your entire life after like building all the things.
[00:35:04] Kym: it. I love it. Oh my gosh. So if somebody’s listening and they’ve been on the fence a little bit about like maybe joining the Thera AI Hub or the Clinical AI Club, Like, what would you tell them? What would be your advice about that?
[00:35:18] Maren: I would say to just try it out. try it out. You’re not committing to something huge, you know. Even if you haven’t done much with AI, I feel like it’s one of the best places to get started. If I had not had the Clinical AI Club or the TheraHub, I would not be doing the things that I am
[00:35:34] Kym: You think so? Oh, that’s amazing.
[00:35:36] Maren: yeah, absolutely not. And I give it to my clients. I have a couple of my team members that are therapists, and one of mine loves it. She tells me all the time, she’s like, “I just did this in Kim’s, in, in the TheraClub or TheraHub.”
[00:35:49] Kym: . Oh my God, that makes me so happy to hear. It
[00:35:52] Maren: Yeah. So we love it, and it’s just, you can just do so many things, and I feel like the tools are simple.
[00:35:57] They’re, TheraHub is plug and play. So if you know I’m not somebody that’s gonna spend time, you know, developing, that’s your place to be. You know, and I think they work so well together. But then if you’re somebody that said, “I really need to know more about this,” I think that’s what’s so great about the Clinical AI Club.
[00:36:15] And if I remember right, it’s been a while since I’ve been to any, but you have co-working sessions with it as well
[00:36:21] Kym: Yeah, I just– I actually just added a third meeting. So we have two, like, masterminds. first and second Tuesday of the month, where it used to be that we would geek out on AI, but everybody gave me feedback that they didn’t really love the geek-out sessions because there was, like, different levels, like beginner versus, like, more advanced.
[00:36:39] So that was a hard thing to, kind of figure out ’cause some people were like, “I don’t wanna talk about, like, how to log into ChatGPT anymore. Like, I’m beyond that,” you know? So I’ve changed those more like whatever the topic of the month is, I’m basically teaching and using the tools in real time and helping people build out with the tools which I think has been really cool.
[00:36:57] We’ve been doing that for about three months now. And then I just opened a cowork- just a co-working hour and a half on the third Thursday of the month, where I’m just, like, sitting there and I’m just there to help. Like, if you get stuck and you’re trying to
[00:37:09] Maren: That’s what I do with mine, with my clients right now, and where the body doubling came in, and she tells me all the time, she goes, “I would not be doing it.” And we have our cameras… We can leave our cameras on, and we just have our microphones. And then if you need me, just come off mute and I’ll walk you through it.
[00:37:25] Kym: Yeah, exactly.
[00:37:27] Maren: It’s so
[00:37:27] Kym: love that model.
[00:37:28] Maren: do that. Yeah. It’s one of my favorites. Like, give me, give me all the people, you know? I can’t do this by myself. I’m gonna be, get distracted and over here, so
[00:37:37] Kym: Yeah. ‘Cause I mean, it does get a little technical, and I will say that in the membership. I’ve gotten a little bit of feedback about that. But the skills I built this one month, like one of them like connects Claude to Higgsfield and then instructs Higgsfield to build your own AI B-rolls and put captions on top of them.
[00:37:55] Yeah, which is really cool. And then an Instagram engagement engine. I don’t know if you saw that, but it’s like, you know, like with Instagram, right? It’s like, part of the algorithm, they want you to like comment on other people’s things, right? And like show that you’re on the platform or whatever to build your account.
[00:38:10] But this thing, like it goes onto Instagram, it scrapes like the best people for you to comment on, and it compiles a list. And then it finds their most recent Instagram post within the last 24 to 48 hours, writes the comment for you that you should post, and then gives you a report. So you literally take it.
[00:38:29] If you’re on Fable, Fable will just go open your Instagram and do it for you.
[00:38:33] Maren: That is amazing
[00:38:34] Kym: It’s crazy, but, but it’s technical, right? So a lot of people don’t know how to do it, so that’s what I spent the last two weeks like teaching them like how to like actually
[00:38:42] Maren: that… So I just downloaded some different skills today and put it in my ClickUp and Claude, and I think I saw one with B-roll and, and I remember thinking that must be new
[00:38:52] Kym: Yeah, the, the Canva, the B-roll one, and I did one for Canva where it’ll go over to Canva and build stuff out for you now if you have it connected to your Claude. And the Ins- I think it’s called Instagram Engagement Engine is what I call the other one that’ll just like literally… And then you copy what, what it said, and you post it in the Claude extension on your browser, and it opens up Instagram and goes and does all the commenting for you.
[00:39:16] It, you don’t even have to be involved, like it just does it for you. So that’s like an hour’s worth of engagement that I’m not doing and I’m not paying a social media manager for.
[00:39:26] Maren: Yeah. I have a content creator who I just started working with, but the cool thing is, so I just learned this, there’s your full social media managers, and then you have kind of your content creators that are just focusing on that. And so she does all of that for me, but the social media manager is going and commenting.
[00:39:44] So I was even thinking the other day, I said, “Okay. Yes, I know I need somebody to do that, but I think this could re- take the place of that or at least help support that.”
[00:39:53] Kym: I’m like, I hate that for my social media team, but I mean, there’s a lot I could probably cut back on what they’re doing, like cost-wise. I mean, I started a new Instagram completely just to test these tools, and it’s AI for therapists, and like everything created on there is used with those five t- five tools that I put in this
[00:40:11] Maren: That is amazing. That
[00:40:13] Kym: Yeah. So check ’em out if you haven’t checked it out yet.
[00:40:15] Maren: Oh, yes. Now I know what I’m doing for the rest of my afternoon.
[00:40:20] Kym: I know. Don’t go down the rabbit hole too much. I know how that goes. But yeah, they’re, they’re really cool. Yeah. It’s,
[00:40:25] Maren: That’s amazing. Yes. I mean, there’s just so many cool things that we can do
[00:40:29] Kym: I know. Yeah. So anyway, I could geek out forever with you about this
[00:40:34] Maren: I know. I’ll just have to come back. We’ll, we’ll just have to do it again.
[00:40:37] Kym: Totally, yeah. I’ll release a few more modules, and you release a few more launches, and we’ll, we’ll do all that.
[00:40:43] Maren: We’ll see what’s new.
[00:40:45] Kym: where do people find you? One uh, this will be coming out in like a couple weeks, so where… Like, if they wanna join your stuff that’s happening, like right now, where, where do they
[00:40:53] Maren: Yes. So, I have my Predictable Pay Challenge coming up, but I suspect that that’s probably gonna be over when this comes out. So, I’ve got my ADHD Practice and Profit cohort, which is gonna be limited to 24 therapists, intentionally kept small that way, and w- it’s gonna be a done-for-you, let’s build it together.
[00:41:13] You know? We’re truly designing your business so it can support whatever that life looks like for you. And that’s– You can find more information on that at profitforkeeps.com\therapist.
[00:41:25] Kym: Okay. Okay
[00:41:28] Maren: then my website is www.balanceandbeyondcoaching.com, so you can find me there, which is where my toolkit is, all those things.
[00:41:37] I’m on Instagram @moneycoachmarin, as well as my Facebook group, Profit for Keeps for Therapists. So, lots of places to find me.
[00:41:45] And I always tell people, you know, especially with a cohort coming up, is if it’s something you’re even thinking about, just reach out, just book a call, ’cause that’s really what it’s about, is to say, “Hey, is this something that could help me?”
[00:41:57] ‘Cause I know so many of us struggle with the money side of business, and we don’t wanna talk about it ’cause it hasn’t been talked
[00:42:04] Kym: Yeah. Totally.
[00:42:06] Maren: Yeah. Yeah. It’s… I think it’s one of the most overwhelming things in, in our business out there.
[00:42:11] Kym: It really is, for sure. Well, thank you for taking the time today
[00:42:15] Maren: Yeah, it’s so much fun, and we’ll have to do it again soon
[00:42:18] Kym: Yeah. I love everything you’re doing and building, and it’s amazing. So thank you
[00:42:22] Maren: great. Thanks so much
