AI Automations for Passive Income and Easier Content
A slow work week is usually a gift in disguise. When you finally get a little space, you can play around with the AI automations you’ve been wanting to try but never had time for, the ones that quietly make your business run more easily in the background. That is exactly what happened to me this week while I was traveling to see family.
In this episode of Run Your Private Practice with AI, I walk you through a few automations I built with Claude Cowork, Manus, and Canva that are helping me generate passive income and create content without doing all the tedious parts myself. I share how I turned my Amazon store into a passive income stream that updates on a regular cadence, how I’m using AI to write and grade content until it hits viral criteria, and a fun little app I built on the spot when a game night almost got derailed. My hope is that it sparks ideas for what you could automate in your own practice.
AI Tips You Don’t Want to Miss:
- How I automated my Amazon affiliate store so Cowork curates a new product list twice a month without me doing the tedious work.
- The way affiliate links actually earn you passive income, even when someone buys something completely unrelated after clicking through.
- How a post writer and post grader skill rewrites content until it scores eight or above against real viral criteria.
- The Cowork and Canva integration I’m using to spin up content and send it straight to my phone for posting.
- How I built a working Twister spinner in Manus in about 15 minutes when the original piece went missing.

[00:00:00] Hey, everybody. Welcome back to another episode of Run Your Private Practice with AI. I’m coming to you from Virginia this week. Well, actually the last two weeks I’ve been traveling to see family. My oldest nephew is graduating high school today, and we’re really excited about it, so we’re gonna be doing that later today.
[00:00:17] So this week I was super creative. Like, I, I got a lot of my work out of the way, and it gave me a lot of time to play around with some AI things I’ve been dying to try out and see if I could automate to make my life easier. So I always love to share these things that I’m doing just to give you inspiration, ideas to help you in your own business.
[00:00:38] There is a freebie I have, and I’ve shared it a few times on this podcast. I’ll put the link down below. It’s for 100 side hustles for therapists, and each side hustle, if you click into it, has got an AI prompt that you can use to create a side hustle. And I know right now a lot of what I see is therapists cannot fill their caseloads, and I talk about this all of the time.
[00:01:00] I have 15 income streams. It’s super important, in my opinion, especially now with what’s going on with AI, to diversify, have some other income stream that you’re already building now. It’s not too late to build it, and people tell me this all the time, like, my coaching clients are like, “Yeah, but there’s already, like, 1,000 therapist coaches out there.”
[00:01:19] It really doesn’t matter as long as you’ve got a specific thing that you’re working on, a specific problem that you’re helping people with, and it’s your unique perspective. So even if somebody else is selling something that’s similar to what you want to do, it’s okay because you’re different. Like, you’re gonna approach it different with your unique expertise and all of that stuff.
[00:01:40] So I would say please, if you do anything from this, go download it. AI is taking our jobs as therapists, and we need to diversify. Like, this is a warning call. And you guys might have heard me talk about before that I wrote a book. It’s being published right now. It should be out, I’d say, maybe next two or three months.
[00:02:01] Publishing process takes longer than I thought. Um, but it’s coming, and it talks about this very thing. The name of the book is The Therapist Apocalypse. So, you know, I want you guys to hear me loud and clear with that. All that being said, what I’m gonna share with you today is my efforts to continue to diversify and, you know, keep my brands going, keep income generating, that sort of thing.
[00:02:24] So the first thing I want to tell you about, this is a little bit out of the box, but I do have a Facebook group called The Traveling Therapist Facebook group. Um, it’s got 33,000 therapists in it, and it’s essentially therapists that want to be semi-nomadic or fully nomadic, live internationally, and be able to take their private practice with them.
[00:02:43] So one income stream that I have, I don’t talk about it a lot, is an Amazon store. So it’s The Traveling Therapist Amazon store. I’ll put the link here, of course. But I actually do generate money from the store. It’s not a lot because I don’t devote enough attention to it, honestly So I got a little space, like I was saying, to get creative with AI and figure out a way to automate this.
[00:03:06] So what I did is I went to Claude and I said, “You know, I’ve got this Amazon store.” Every time a therapist clicks on it… You know, I’ll talk about it in the Traveling Therapist group occasionally. Every time a therapist clicks on it, they go and they look at, like, a suitcase I’m talking about or something.
[00:03:22] But what happens is, what happens when you go to Amazon? It’s like you go down this rabbit hole of just trying to you know, find something or it’s like, “Oh, that reminds me, I do need this or I need that.” So if somebody enters Amazon through your store, your store link, even if they don’t buy from your store, anything they go and buy, like, associated with your link, you get a percentage of the money.
[00:03:46] So I don’t know about you, but we, right now we’re grounded a little bit in Cocoa Beach, Florida. But when you know, when we’re not traveling and when we’re totally stable, we’ve got, like, an Amazon box coming in every day. It’s… Ken shops way more than I do in my opinion, but he’s got something coming in every day.
[00:04:03] So if you think about that, if you have a place to share this stuff, even if it’s your own personal Facebook page Put the link out there, and then literally every time somebody buys, it’s just, like, passive income for you, except for the post that you have to do. So the thing that has kept me from doing it that much is it takes a little bit of time to, like, curate stuff and to think of what to say and how to get people to click, that sort of thing.
[00:04:27] So what did I do? I went to Claude, and I went to Cowork, and I said, “I need to automate this process. I really wanna get it going on a regular cadence because I forget about it. I don’t do it. It’s super easy. I just don’t have the time for it.” So Claude was like, “Okay, let’s do this.” So basically, I automated Cowork to every other week go into my Amazon store and curate a new list of, you know, Amazon items that would be a list that the Traveling Therapist would be interested in.
[00:05:03] Okay? So for example, it did it today. It’s supposed to do it on the 15th and the first of every month. Today is June 15th. So it g- went in, it decided that I don’t have a list of books, like business books, that Traveling Therapist might benefit from, especially if they want to generate other income streams.
[00:05:23] I did not think of this, okay? So it went in, and it actually pulled my Audible list of business books I’ve actually listened to and then other books that are, like, top-rated business books, and it said, “Here’s the list I wanna curate. How does this sound?” I was like, “Do it.” So it’s a little bit tedious to do these stores because you have to literally go find the listing, and you have to add it.
[00:05:43] You have to put a description of what the book is. You wanna personalize it a little bit to say, like, how did it help me in my business, that sort of thing. Claude Cowork did all of that for me. It just had me approve the list, and it went in and made the rest of the list for me. So now in my Traveling Therapist Amazon store, again, I’ll put the link below, there is a curated list of, like, business books that can help you scale your income and that sort of thing.
[00:06:06] And it’s totally… All of that tedious part of it that I totally avoid has been curated for me and made it into a nice little list. It came back and said, “Here’s the link to your new curated, you know, book list on the Traveling Therapist Amazon store.” And then it wrote a, um, like, a blurb for my Facebook group.
[00:06:26] I haven’t posted it yet. I’m gonna go post it later. In fact, I could have it automate the posting itself, but I don’t know why that still just makes me super nervous. But it used some skills that I have in Claude, and if you’re in the TheraAI hub, you guys have these skills too. So one of them is the content copywriter, which is amazing.
[00:06:45] It’s called Content Architect for you guys that are in the membership if you go look in the skills directory I made for you. That’s in there. And then two more I’m gonna release this coming month, because I’m working on July’s module already for the TheraAI Hub and Clinical AI Club members. One is a post writer and one is a post grader.
[00:07:04] Now, this post grader is amazing. Like, I, I just can’t even tell you how amazing it is. It basically goes in and looks at the post that was just generated, like just written using my content architect and the post writer skill. It looks at it, and then it judges it based on criteria from, I think it’s 3,000 content creators that have gone over 2.5 million views on various social media platforms.
[00:07:30] So it, it went out, it made a list of, like, what made them all go viral, and then this skill basically does that. It’s like, “Okay, does the headline meet this? Does it do this? Does it do this?” And it’s got a huge list of criteria that it meets. So what it does is it keeps rewriting that post until it meets viral criteria, which just blows my mind.
[00:07:51] So it gives it a grade, eight or above. So everything that I’m putting out right now using this is eight and above, and we’ll see. I’ll report back to tell you if it all goes viral, but right now it’s really making my life a lot easier. So it did that for the Traveling Therapist Facebook group. If you’re in that group, later today I’m gonna go post that viral post.
[00:08:10] It’s gonna have the link to this new curated thing in the Traveling Therapist store. Literally anyone that clicks it and goes to Amazon, and then even later in the same instance with that browser open, I’m gonna get, like, a percentage of what they buy. So it could be anything. They could dive down suitcases or like, “Oh gosh, I forgot I need to buy an inner tube for the pool,” or whatever.
[00:08:30] They go click it, buy it, I get a percentage of that. So really, that is passive income. If I told Cowork on the 1st and 15th to just go post in the Traveling Therapist Facebook group, it could totally do all of that for me. I wouldn’t even be in the loop with it. So create a new curated list in the Amazon store and then go post it over in the Traveling Therapist Facebook group.
[00:08:52] And then, you know, automatically, there’s so many people in that group, people are gonna click it, right? Because it’s a little bit of a, a viral hook kind of thing, but it’s also helpful. It’s like, “Okay, yeah, what books did Kim read for scaling her business?” Really helpful stuff, so… And I didn’t think of any of that.
[00:09:10] Cowork thought of all of it for me. So I wanted to share that to just say Pretty cool, and I hope that gives you some ideas too. Like, if you’ve got an, an audience, if you’re a coach, could you make an Amazon store? Possibly you could. This reminds me of something I did for my stepdaughter too. I basically built her a skill on Claude that builds out, like, these KDP publishing, publishing process for Amazon, so she can use that now and publish these journals that she’s creating for this, um, substack that she started, which is really good.
[00:09:42] It’s like, um, haunted, you know, places and myths and all that stuff, so it’s really interesting. But anyway, same process. I made her a skill. She uses the skill. She just hits it. It goes out and does all that for her so she doesn’t have to do it. You could do it too. So anyway, that’s one thing. And then a fun thing we did…
[00:10:01] So I mentioned in the beginning that I’m at my family, my sister’s house. If you’re watching this, you can see there’s a pool behind me. She has this great pool we’ve been in, like, all week with the kids. It’s really been fun. Last night, the youngest nephew was like, “I wanna play Twister,” ’cause it was, like, on the game shelf.
[00:10:17] And I was like, “Okay, I’ll play Twister with you.” We got it out, and the spinner was missing. You know, the, the spinner that tells you, like, right hand on green, left foot on whatever. It was missing, so he was like, “Oh, I guess we can’t play.” And I was like, “Wait a second. I bet we could play.” So I went to Manus, and I typed in, “Hey, I’m trying to play Twister.
[00:10:38] The spinner’s missing. I need you to create, you know, an automated spinner, Twister spinner that replicates the game that I can use right now, real time, and for Twister, essentially.” So it built it for me. It was… The first round was not good because it kept, like, giving me the three, the same three things over and over again, so of course I had to go back in and say, “Hold on.
[00:10:59] This isn’t right.” I needed to make sure… You know, I gave it parameters basically, and that’s what you have to do when you’re creating these mini apps. You have to, like, you know, go back and tweak it a little bit. But I was like, “You know, we don’t want it to repeat. We wanna make sure it’s, like, totally random n- randomized, and that it’s hitting all the colors, all the body parts, that sort of thing.”
[00:11:16] So the whole thing took, like, 15 minutes to create this spinner, and it works perfectly. I’m like, man, I should go put this in the app store and sell it, ’cause how many other people, like, pull out Twister after years and you know, don’t have, don’t have the spinner or something like that? Or any, any game that requires something like that.
[00:11:33] You can easily fill in the missing piece really quickly with Manus. I think it took, like, 200 credits, which you get 300 free credits every day with Manus. So anyway, that was super cool. I thought that was fun. And I’m trying to think what else Oh my gosh. Yeah, this is, this is– needs to be devoted to a whole ‘nother episode, but this is what I’m working on for July with Canva.
[00:11:55] Oh my gosh, there’s a jet going overhead. I don’t know if you guys are familiar with the Norfolk, Virginia area. There are jets constantly going overhead. So content creation, this is gonna be the July deliverable for the Clinical AI Club and for the TheraAI Hub. I am using… Successfully, I’m using Claude Cowork and Canva as an integration, and it’s helping me make viral content.
[00:12:22] So I’m gonna put the link down here of my new Instagram. It’s ai.fortherapists, is the Instagram, and I’ll put the, the little link down below so you can go and check it out. And see all of the content over the last two weeks has been generated with Cowork and Claude. Es- uh, c- has been generated with Cowork and Canva integrated together.
[00:12:48] And I was trying to use Bluetato. I think I mentioned this last episode, and it’s not working how I want it to because I can’t add trending audio to it, so I’m still trying to figure that out if I can even use it for what I’m trying to do. But what it’s doing right now is it’s creating it for me. It’s spinning it up in Canva, and basically from my computer, I’m sending it to myself through WhatsApp, or it can send it to you too, but it got a little clunky with me, so I’m just sending it myself.
[00:13:15] And then I just upload it to Instagram. So it’s got the content ready for me, and it’s been a bit of a process to train it. But it’s got the content ready, and then it basically, through WhatsApp, I put it in the Edits app on my phone on, you know, on the Edits… It’s called Edits. It’s like the Instagram Edits app.
[00:13:36] So you go in there. I basically upload it. I just check it out, make sure it looks okay. I can add trending audio, and then it uploads over to my Instagram. It’s so easy, and it’s the same process. So I’m not writing this content. It’s the content architect I was talking about, trained on my AI brand, and the post writer and the post, uh, grader, and it’s, it’s trying it over and over and over again.
[00:14:00] It’s getting the perfect post. Connecting with Canva, making the content for me that I’ve trained it on how to do. It has taken some work to do it, but it’s pretty good right now. And then I’m downloading it and uploading it to Instagram really easily. You know, Instagram already shows you what trending content is, so I do that and no problem.
[00:14:19] Ah! Jet noise.
[00:14:20] Oh my gosh. Anyway, so that’s the things I’m doing this week when I got some space to be able to be a little bit more creative. Um, having fun with the family, not working that much, but doing some fun co-work stuff in between. So try it out. I hope this stuff gives you some ideas of how you can use co-work for your own business to help you scale to help you get creative with things like game night, that sort of thing, and it’s just really easy to do.
[00:14:45] So let me know if you have any questions, as always, and I’ll put the links down below that I mentioned in this episode. Okay. Take care
